Week 16 | Artist 16 of Created to Create 2017 | Aleksandra Miletic, Flute Player for El Gran Teatro
Aleksandra Miletic, born December 8th, 1973, is a Serbian flute player and was born in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia. Aleksandra's mother, Dunja Miletic, is an architect and her father, Slobodan Miletic, a Philosophy professor. She is currently working as an Assistant Principal Flute of the Symphonic Orchestra at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Catalan city of Barcelona. Aleksandra started studying flute with professor Radmila Rakin Martinovic at the Music School Isidor Bajic Novi Sad. In 1991, she moved to Paris to study at the Conservatoire National Superior de Musique et de Dance de Paris, with a Professor Pierre Yves Artaud, where she obtained her degree in 1995: Premier Prix with distinction. Ms. Miletic was mentored by teachers such as Professor Andras Adorjan in Munich, where she obtained the Postgraduate Master degree; and Mme Ida Ribera, Pierre Yves Artaud, Philipe Boucly, Andras Adorjan, Aurele Nicolet, Philipe Bernold, Patrick Gallois among others.
With an extensive orchestral experience, Miletic was a member of the Schleswig Holstein Youth Orchestra, the Philharmonie der Nationen, the Münchener Orchester Akademie, the Heidelberger Sinfoniker, the European Philharmonic and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga and has also collaborated with Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Rundfunk, the Symphonic Orchestra of Tenerife, the Münchener Philharmoniker and the Bayerische Stadtsoper.
As a flute player, she has had a great privilege of being conducted by renowned conductors such as Lorin Mazel, Zubin Mehta, James Levin, Valery Gergiev, Mstislav Rostropovich, Christian Thielman. In addition to her full time work at the Liceu, Ms. Miletic performed extensively in countries such as Egypt, Japan, China, USA and Russia and played as a Soloist with the orchestra (Mozart concerto in D-dur) in Frankfurter Alte Oper and has made numerous CD recordings and Radio performances for ORF Austria, Bavarian Radio BRF, Radio France as well as for Radio Serbia.
Currently, Aleksandra is an active participant in the European Chamber music projects with Ensemble Instrumental du Conservatoire Nationale de Paris, the Chamber Orchestra of Gran Teatro del Liceu, the National Chamber Orchestra of Andorra, as well as duets with pianist Sara Calvo González and Guitarist Javier García Moreno. She is living and performing in Barcelona and teaches masterclasses throughout Cataluña and tutors young flutists in preparation for orchestra auditions.
